Subject: Campus Wide Cooling Issues

Zone 2 Building Deputies,

I wanted to let all of you know that campus is struggling to maintain cooling capabilities in the heat we are experiencing this week. Yesterday afternoon many buildings campus wide were unable to cool spaces sufficiently due to a lack of chilled water flow and I suspect it will be magnified today and tomorrow. Our staff will still respond to hot calls but I ask everyone to please be understanding that there is little the technicians can do when the chilled water supply temps raise or flow stops.

If your spaces house sensitive equipment that requires cooling please communicate this to those areas. If damage or loss can be prevented by monitoring space and equipment temperatures I ask that they please do so regularly today. Most notably server equipment, research equipment and samples, and Machinery can be severely impacted when cooling is unable to maintain.

Please continue to report hot areas and thank you for your understanding,

Patrick Jewell Zone Leader
