Subject: Invitation to CISTAR Seminar - November 16, 2017

Dear ChE Colleagues,

I am cordially inviting you to attend a presentation to learn more about CISTAR - Center for Innovative and Strategic Transformation of Alkane Resources, on November 16, 2017, from 3.00 to 4.15 pm in FRNY G140, by Dr. Fabio Ribeiro, R. Norris and Eleanor Shreve Professor of Chemical Engineering and CISTAR Director. This is also an optional seminar for ChE graduate students, attendance will not be taken. As for any seminars, we will have a reception from 2.30 to 3.00 pm in the Henson Atrium.

This presentation will give you an opportunity to hear about five key points:

1.      What is a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center (NSF ERC)? Why are they so prestigious?

2.      What was Purdue and ChE's journey to obtain one of the only four newly funded ERCs?

3.      What are CISTAR's plans for research, education, diversity, and innovation?

4.      Why is CISTAR relevant to the current US educational and industrial landscape?

5.      How will CISTAR integrate with the four university partners, Purdue, and the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering?
