Dear Colleagues,

I am very sorry to inform that Karen Heide passed away earlier today. Karen worked at Purdue for nearly 40 years, of which more than 26 were in our School. She had some health issues for several years before retiring in May 2014 but she was always cheerful, with a smile on her face. Her hobby was bowling - along with her husband Rich, she was an avid bowler and participated in the Purdue Faculty , Staff & Students Bowling League for years. Recently, on March 19, she was inducted into the Lafayette USBC (US Bowling Congress) Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service.

Details about her visitation and services will be available later. Our thoughts are with Rich and her family - may Karen rest in peace.
