Good afternoon,
This is to inform you that the Forney Hall Addition will be completely closed on January 4 and 5, 2016. The timing is dictated by the delivery of the air handling unit that needs to be lifted and installed on the roof. Inclement weather may delay the closure to January 9-10, 2016.
During this period the loading dock area will be closed; Jason will relocate to the Unit Ops Lab in FRNY G014, all new packages can be picked up from there.
The ramp on the Physics side will be closed these two days, plan accordingly for cylinders.
The original part of the building will remain operational. The doors towards Gateway Hall and Schleman Hall will be open during the day; you can enter the building with the card reader after 11.00 pm.
I appreciate your understanding in accommodating this closure.
Cristina

Subject: Forney addition to be evacuated during fall break for construction work
Importance: High
As you are aware, an entire wing of our building is under renovation. An important part of the project involves installing an air handling unit. A crane will have to lift this large item and the structural steel supporting it on the Forney roof. While the crane operates, all the areas directly under the crane operating area have to be evacuated, as a safety precaution. There will be no interruption of electricity or other utilities, unless something goes wrong.
