Reception at 10:15-10:45 a.m. in Henson Atrium

Abstract: Winning in the marketplace is critical for a company's success. In addition to the financial metrics on innovation that Dow tracks internally, awards from external (to Dow) independent organizations are one way that innovation is recognized and highlighted to the public. Recognition received by Dow products and its people demonstrates the strength and breadth of innovation at Dow Chemical. Five products were recently named 2014 R&D 100 Award winners, recognized as some of the most innovative products of 2013. Last year we were awarded our ninth Presidential Green Chemistry Award, recognizing our commitment to products that improve our world. Several successful Dow products that are also award winners will be highlighted. The story behind the innovations will be shared, highlighting how Dow's culture and capabilities combine to bring new products to market. Rigorous R&D metrics that prioritize resources for maximum impact, a focus on efficiency, including unrivaled high-throughput capabilities, and collaboration on technology and with brand-owners to deliver real-world solutions all contribute to our success. Actual impact in the marketplace with products that improve the world is the ultimate goal. Awards validate that our efforts are yielding both innovative and impactful products.
