FRNY G140
Reception at 10:15-10:45 a.m. in Henson Atrium
Abstract: In the highly regulated environment of pharmaceuticals, patent protection plays a critical role in protecting revenue and fostering innovation. With a low barrier to competition and long and expensive lead times, the ability to recoup staggering investment costs is a critical component for achieving success. It is not the only component, however. Coupled with patent law, food and drug law offers independent opportunities to protect value in the right circumstances. This talk will discuss how pharmaceutical patent and regulatory law interface and shape life cycle management strategies for innovators as well as opportunities and incentives for generics.
