Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to inform that for the 4th year in a row, a team including one or more ChE students has won the $20,000 first prize in the Student Innovation Contest<http://www.indianasoybean.com/strategic-programs/new-use-innovation/43-strategic-programs-new-uses/98-new-use-innovation-soybean-student-competition> sponsored by the Indiana Soybean Alliance.

This year ChE graduate student Nicole Devlin and ChE senior Yanssen Tandy, along with ME senior Carmen Valverde-Paniagua, won the first prize for their S3D Innovations team which developed Filasoy, a next generation 3D printing material. Filasoy replaces petroleum-based plastic with a low-energy, low-temperature, renewable and recyclable filament. It retains similar properties found in a bioplastic with an added "green" twist - it allows printing without waste. For details, pl visit:

With best wishes,
