[Che-student-staff-list] DL2 Award - FRNY Stacked Labs

Dear Colleagues,



In fall 2012, the University announced the Discovery and Learning Laboratory Renovation Program (DL2) for 2013, where resources from the Offices of the Treasurer and Provost were made available to address high-priority research and teaching laboratory repair and rehabilitation (R&R) needs.  We submitted a proposal in response to this solicitation, for $6.02 million, to renovate the entire Stacked Labs area - the only remaining renovation in Forney Hall.  Cristina Farmus helped me to prepare the proposal.  University-wide, twenty proposals were submitted and 8 were funded.


I am delighted to inform that our proposal has been approved by the DL2 committee for funding.  This approval is subject to Capital Projects Council (CPC) approval, and I expect that it will be forthcoming in due course.  This allocation will provide the needed quality space for our School to address the space needs for our strategic growth plans.



Our proposal had the strong support of the CoE, specifically Leah Jamieson and Robert Frosch, to whom I express our deep gratitude and thanks.
