Dear Colleagues,
I am delighted to inform that Dr. Michael Ramage (BS '66, MS '69, PhD '71, HDR '96), one of our School's most distinguished graduates, will present a special seminar today, titled "Review of Transitions to Alternative Vehicles and Fuels, NRC Report, 2013." The seminar will be held in FRNY 3059, from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. This is not a mandatory seminar but students are invited to attend.
As you may be aware, over the recent years Dr. Ramage chaired several National Research Council (NRC) reports dealing with energy issues - despite being asked to chair this one, he declined to serve in this role again but did serve as a consultant. His brief biographical information is given below.
Biographical Information
Dr. Michael P. Ramage is retired Executive Vice-President, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company and currently Executive Advisor to ExxonMobil. Previously, he was Executive Vice-President, Chief Technology Officer, and Director of Mobil Oil Corporation. He has broad experience in many aspects of the petroleum, chemical and energy industries. Dr. Ramage has served on a number of university visiting committees, including our School's Industrial Advisory Council and Academic Advisory Board, and was a member of the Government University Industrial Research Roundtable. He is a member of several professional organizations, was a Director of AIChE, and served on the U.S. Secretary of Energy's Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technical Advisory Committee since its inception in 2006 until 2010. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering (elected 1996) and has served on the NAE Council.
