Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to stress the importance of Yury's message below.  The indemnification is a very important process to certify that our safety practices are top-notch - critical for the well being of all in Forney Hall.  If not indemnified, it means that we are jeopardizing safety of others and, in addition, we become liable for any costs that incur as the result of an accident.  So, in addition to human, there are also financial costs involved with loss of indemnification - both unacceptable.

ChE Faculty, Staff and Students,

On August 28, the ChE Safety Committee will meet with representatives from REM to review our
safety program for re-indemnification by Purdue for another year. REM will do inspection of research areas in Forney.
Next week (starting Monday) Safety Committee will make overview inspection of research labs based on the remarks done during June-July inspections.
