Hi,
Effective today you will need to run a VPN client in order to remotely connect to your office computer when off campus.
This is a security measure that was announced last week by ITAP - not ECN.
You will only be affected if you every connect to your office computer from home or elsewhere off campus to work on it remotely. This doesn't affect reading Purdue web pages, or using a web browser to read your email (like mymail or the exchange webmail reader).
If you need to remotely connect and have not already installed the VPN client you will need to go to the following page and follow the directions: http://www.itap.purdue.edu/connections/vpn/index.cfm
If you have issues with this I would suggest you first contact ITAP for help since they are the ones that supply and maintain the VPN software. They can be reached at itap at purdue.edu or by calling 494-4000. One note, if you have to manually install the VPN software like I did, you will need to supply the VPN connection information - you want to tell the program to connect to webvpn.purdue.edu
