US 52 Project Will Shift Traffic Late Friday
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announce US 52 eastbound traffic will be shifted into the newly constructed eastbound lanes and leave westbound traffic in the westbound lanes by late Friday afternoon. Crews with Walsh Construction Co. have nearly completed the reconstruction of US 52 between Schuyler Ave. and Greenbush. There will only be daytime lane restrictions in the area in which they will be working until the contractor finishes up work in the next couple of weeks. Motorists are encouraged to be aware of the changes in traffic patterns.

Other improvements as part of the reconstruction will include shoulder, curbs and gutters, drainage structures, culvert, guardrail, and sign replacement. The turn lanes will be lengthened at the intersection of Underwood and O'Farrell Streets. This project is scheduled to be completed in August of 2012.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, please visit www.in.gov/indot<http://www.in.gov/indot> or www.trafficwise.IN.gov<http://www.trafficwise.IN.gov>.
