[Cce-visiting-list] [Cce-all-list] Disruption to Purdue Engineering websites

Dear CCE Community,

Over the course of this past week the Purdue Engineering web (including the CCE website and CCE Intranet) has experienced significant disruption due to massive surges of traffic occurring at random intervals, believed to be resulting from automated data collection. While Purdue IT continues to investigate the source of the disruption and troubleshoot potential solutions, there have been and may continue to be intervals where public access to the web servers is cut off in order to prevent overload and failure. In such cases, internal access to the engineering web will remain open on any device connected to the campus network on-site or remotely via the Purdue Virtual Private Network (VPN).
