Hello CCE Grad Students!
Hope you are all gearing up for fall 2025!
Registration is open. You can register through August 29th without a penalty. You can find our registration instructions at: https://engineering.purdue.edu/CCE/Academics/Graduate/Current/Register.
You can add, drop or modify courses that are 16-weeks long, through September 8th, without any penalties. The add/drop/modify schedule for the full fall 2025 semester can be found at: https://catalog.purdue.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=18&poid=33633.
If you are a PhD or MS thesis option student, you are required to enroll in research (CE 69800 or CE 69900) every semester you are conducting research- even if you have met the minimum required credits for research. Your advisor should provide the PIN. You can find your professor's research CRN in the Schedule of Classes in myPurdue. You can then enter the request in Scheduling Assistant. The system will circulate the request to the appropriate contacts for approval - you do NOT need to contact people separately. Here is a link to the Scheduling Assistant FAQ<http://www.purdue.edu/registrar/documents/scheduling/FAQs_Student_Sched_Assist.pdf> page. This will approve one hour of research. Once that is fully approved, you will need to go back into Scheduling Assistant and request a modification up to the desired number of research hours. Here is a brief video on how you request a modification credits -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYvXSCEVXx8<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DhYvXSCEVXx8&data=05%7C02%7Ccce-graduates-list%40ecn.purdue.edu%7C86c7b9df53074700128b08dddc350d62%7C4130bd397c53419cb1e58758d6d63f21%7C1%7C0%7C638908842605548108%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=DRQUtCp2BYdvaI1y4kCqnqJcavwAZ1YmKbp0WVMCetc%3D&reserved=0>.
International students - please note that you must register full-time (at least eight credits) each fall and spring. The Graduate School no longer allows reduced hours if you have an assistantship. It is still possible to request a reduction in courseload (RCL) in your graduating semester.
If you plan to graduate in December, you must have a plan of study, fully approved by CCE by Friday, August 22nd. You can find links to the plan of study procedures at https://engineering.purdue.edu/CCE/Academics/Graduate/Current.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Jenny
