You may have seen the news coverage of language added to the Indiana budget bill which directly impacts faculty, staff and students at state supported Indiana institutions of higher education.

In brief, this language appears to add a post-tenure review process based on "productivity".  It also codifies into law that faculty governance bodies are to be "advisory." While this has always been true of the Purdue University Senate, it is unclear how this language affects the Senate's oversight of educational policy which is specified  in our bylaws.
