FE Exam Dev Team – Our Knowledge Content/PAKS survey went live 1/20/26. Would each of you please do the following:

  * Take the survey “for real” using the link in the email below. All the responses to the pilot survey (Nov/Dec 2025) have been cleared out. The survey is now collecting responses that will be used to evaluate exam topics.
  * Copy the survey link and/or email below and spread the word to your colleagues, coworkers, and technical society friends. We are looking for licensed professional engineers as well as university/college engineering faculty to give us input on the FE exam specifications. If you know any Industrial & Systems Engineers, please make sure you include them in your email distribution. For the 2020 specs, we were short survey responses for the FE I&S survey.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me know if you have any questions.

NCEES is seeking licensed engineers and engineering faculty to participate in a knowledge content review for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. The results of this online survey will be used to update the content of the FE exam, a process that occurs every six to eight years.

NCEES requires a cross section of licensed engineers and engineering faculty—including those working in industry, consulting, the public sector, and academia —to complete the survey. If you are a licensed professional engineer or engineering faculty, we would appreciate your input. The survey can be completed in approximately 25 minutes.

The survey will be open until April 6, 2026. Please help us spread the word about this important study by sharing this email with any colleagues who are licensed engineers. NCEES sincerely thanks you for your contribution to ensure that the FE exam is reflective of current practice.
