Per your request, I've attached Richard Blanco's CV, along with a syllabus and final project for the "Human Engineer" course he taught at Wentworth. Finally, I'm attaching a forthcoming essay, "The Poet-Engineer."

Hello all--

Moving Milind to Bcc, with my thanks for connecting us.

GS, I had similar concerns about bringing in Mr. Blanco too late to have meaningful interactions. We have scheduled his visit Dec. 3-4, just before dead week.

As Milind indicates, Blanco has a particular interest in doing interdisciplinary teaching focusing on concilience between the arts and sciences. He has developed a particular project-based course, "The Poet-Engineer," which he has taught at Wentworth and elsewhere over the years. Blanco's formal presentation on Dec. 4 will likewise focus on reaching across disciplinary silos in the classroom and in his own life experiences.

Please let me know if you have interest in seeing a CV or other materials (e.g., a syllabus for "Poet-Engineer," or examples of related writings).

Hi GS,

I wanted to loop you in on a discussion Al Lopez (CCed) and I have been having. English is interested in bringing in Richard Blanco (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Blanco) as a potential talent-based hire. His undergraduate training is actually in Civil Engineering, and part of why he’s potentially interested in moving to Purdue is to engage with the engineering students here.

He’ll be coming in December, and Al thought it might be nice for him to meet with some folks from Civil, and also to circulate the talk information more broadly.
