[Cce-faculty-list] Spring 2026 Application Review - Deadline October 3rd

Hello All,

Just a friendly reminder about completing the Spring 2026 Grad application reviews. All current completed applications have been moved to the appropriate bins and I will be adding applications as they become complete.  Please make sure you are checking these on a regular basis to make sure all applications get reviewed by the deadline.  Please have your reviews complete by Friday, October 3rd (this will be the final deadline to get students processed for Spring 2026 admission.)  We have received notice that the admissions are being scrutinized at the highest levels in order to understand the financial implications to Purdue.  They are experiencing significant delays in offers of admissions.  We are now being asked to verify how all admission offers are being funded so please also let me know if the student is being funding with an assistantship (need to know what type of assistantship, account type, account number, how long you are employing, academic year or full year) or if they will be self-funded.


  *   No unfunded PhD admits (CoE is unlikely to budge on this)
  *   Increased emphasis on recruitment of domestic students, particularly to the PhD. program (currently at CoE - 31% domestic; desire to get to 50% domestic students).

All current completed applications are in Slate for your review.  Some of these maybe from a previous semester, however the application is still active for review. Below is the Bin that your applications are in with the number for view ( ).

Bin 1 - ARC (1), GEM (1), HYD (3)
Bin 2 - CON (6) , GET (1)
Bin 3 - ENV (1), MAT (13), TRANS (4), online - Smart Mobility(0) and Sustainable Water (1)
Bin 4 - STR (12), online IRS (7)

Reviews should be done in the Slate system.  We will not be monitoring GradDB for reviews.  To ensure a holistic and fair evaluation, please review as many applications as possible for your area- we would like each applicant to have at least three reviews.  Students pay an application fee and have a reasonable expectation that their application has been evaluated.  Remember that you will have to put the application in your queue to review.  Once you have completed your review, please ensure that the file has been removed from your queue, however, do not change the Bin that the application is in.

If you need help with Slate please let me know.  I would be happy to have a zoom meeting with you to help with any questions you may have or I can stop come by your office.  While in Slate if you find any additional helpful hints that are not on the attached document please share and we will add them as well.

            *              Data Classification and Handling Educational Resources
*              Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
*              Gramm Leach Bliley Act/Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 (GLBA)
*              Protecting Social Security Numbers at Purdue University
