All:
It has come to my attention that some are not following Purdue's policy for Quiet Period. Please see below. Specifically:
"First, per university policy, no graded assessments (e.g., assignments, exams, quizzes) should be administered during Quiet Period (April 28-May 3). This week is reserved for wrapping up instruction and preparing students for finals during the designated exam period. Assessments are only allowed during the Quiet Week if a final exam is not being given during finals week (May 5-10)."
Please make changes immediately if you are in violation of this Purdue policy.
Best.
GS

TEACHING AND LEARNING UPDATES FOR APRIL 22
Academic Regulations for End-of-Semester Exams
As we approach the end of the semester, please keep the following exam policies in mind:
First, per university policy, no graded assessments (e.g., assignments, exams, quizzes) should be administered during Quiet Period (April 28-May 3). This week is reserved for wrapping up instruction and preparing students for finals during the designated exam period. Assessments are only allowed during the Quiet Week if a final exam is not being given during finals week (May 5-10).
Second, students are entitled to reschedule an exam if they have more than two exams scheduled on the same day or if they face a direct scheduling conflict between exams. Instructors need to accommodate these requests without penalty. Please note that it is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with their instructors prior to the final week of classes.
For additional guidance on final exams, please review the Academic Regulations for End-of-Semester Exams<https://maillinks.purdue.edu/t/47588027/1144402462/104933157/0/100546/?x=c1c17401>, sent April 15.

WELLNESS TIP
Strengthen your relationships with the science of savoring
An NPR article<https://maillinks.purdue.edu/t/47588027/1144402462/104933469/0/100546/?x=8d97e86c> highlights relational savoring, a technique that focuses on meaningful moments and memories to strengthen family bonds. Ways to practice savoring include building up positive anticipation before getting together, imagining yourself reflecting on these moments later in life, using all your senses to be attuned to the present moment so that recalling memories later is easier, and making the effort to look back and reflect on seemingly ordinary but meaningful moments of connection.
