NSAC-NCN Seminar Series
Friday, September 23, 2011
Venue: BNC 1001, 1:00 pm
Hello everyone,
The inaugural seminar of the NSAC-NCN Seminar series is scheduled for tomorrow (September 23, 2011). We extend our invitations to everyone to attend the talk.
Speaker: KPSS Hembram
Title of the talk: “Modeling of nanostructured materials”
Abstract:
Nanostructured materials have fascinating properties those differing from the bulk, due to high surface to volume ratio. With external perturbation, nanostructured materials transform to other different type of nanostructures. In this presentation, a generalized formalism will be discussed to explain the above phenomena. More over different examples will be analyzed, with the same formalism emphasizing the distribution of nanostructured materials, in any materials synthesis procedure.
Brief Bio:
KPSS Hembram obtained his PhD from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India after completing his Master’s in Material Science from Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur) and Master’s in Particle Physics from Utkal University, India. He was a research associate in the theoretical sciences unit at Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) before joining as a post-doctoral researcher under Prof. Fisher at BNC.
Food and refreshments will be provided!
Thanks
Nanotechnology Student Advisory Council (NSAC), BNC
