[BNC-grads-list] Birck Modernization Project Timeline

Dear Birck Users,

Thank you to everyone who joined us either in person or virtually for our first town hall meeting this Tuesday. Given our facility is almost 20 years old, these major renovations are critical. We shared the construction timeline and the scope of work required for the Birck modernization project. We appreciate the input and feedback from our users and will work with Pepper Construction and Physical facilities to integrate some of these suggestions. Recognizing the importance of your research, we use a bay-by-bay construction approach to minimize disruptions. We discussed detailed downtime schedules for each bay and tools in the meeting, and have provided a summary in the attached PowerPoint slides. We hope to work with all users together to minimize the impact on research and move the construction forward as efficiently as possible. It is important for users to note the downtime for each bay and tool, ensuring research projects are planned accordingly. We are dedicated to transparency and open communication throughout this process and aim to make this transition as smooth as possible.
