This is a reminder that applications for the NSAC Leadership Award will be due to Monica Allain (mallain at purdue.edu) by May 31, 2011.
This is a $500 travel grant for providing recognition for outstanding service, participation, and leadership in the Nanotechnology Student Advisory Council (NSAC). This award will provide support to an active NSAC member to attend a workshop/lecture/conference/seminar in the area of their active research or for career development.
In order to be considered for a NSAC leadership award, the following requirements must be met:
1. Be an active member in NSAC with a status of at least .50 academic FTE during the current academic year (both Fall and Spring semesters).
a. Any student who is on the bnc-grad mailing list and/or has an office in Birck is automatically an NSAC member. Other students who attend NSAC events are also considered NSAC members.
b. Active NSAC members are those who participate in NSAC meetings, give tours to BNC visitors, host lab open houses, serve as super-users, serve on BNC committees, and/or participate in other BNC/NSAC events.
2. Based on activities and information from the current academic school year (both Fall and Spring semesters), submit a completed application form and all related documentation prior to the 31 May deadline.
Application Procedures
1. Applications are due annually no later than 5:00 PM on 31 May. Should this date fall on a weekend, the deadline will be no later than 5:00 PM on the Monday immediately following the weekend.
2. Incomplete or late applications will NOT BE CONSIDERED.
3. Submittal of an application does not guarantee funding.
4. One recipient will be notified annually in August, based on a complete application, to travel during the following academic school year.
