[Bnc-faculty-all-list] Nanoimprint Lithography

Dear Colleagues,

The nanoimprint lithography tool (NX-2000) at Birck is down and the service cost is $21,500. The usage of the tool has been quite low (total income over the last 3 1/2 years is $1,388; see below the details). We are evaluating future use of nanoimprint as this will be the basis if we should repair it and also determine the usage fee.

Could you let Ron Reger know your anticipated usage in the next 1-2 years? Also what are your thoughts about maintaining this capability at Birck?

The usage story:

Nanonex has been used very little and has been up almost 100% of the time for several years.

The billings/income:

·         FY 2014:                                Total Income:  $740.00.                 Used by Peroulis group for all uses except one from ME, Justin Weibel.

·         FY 2015:                                Total Income:  $228.00.                 Used mostly by Peroulis group except one use by Sasha and two by Bryan Boudouris.

·         FY 2016:                                Total Income:  $0.00                       No entries in the 2016 billings sheet

·         FY 2017 (so far):               Total Income:  $420.00                  Used mostly by Vlad’s group except for three uses by Gary Cheng.
