Subject: "HOLD THE DATE" High Performance Computing Forum - August 24th

Dear Center Directors,

Please hold the date of Thursday, August 24th from 1pm to 5pm at the Burton D. Morgan Building, Room 121 for a High Performance Computing (HPC) forum hosted by Discovery Park. The purpose of this forum is to learn about key elements of a recent solicitation published by the National Science Foundation (NSF) aimed at building the next generation High Performance Computing platform. This will be a single NSF award delivered as a cooperative agreement totaling up to $60M procurement beginning in 2018. In response to this solicitation, Purdue has submitted a letter of intent and will submit a proposal in November, 2017. Dr. Gerhard Klimeck, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of the Network for Computational Nanotechnology, is leading the effort. This forum will assist in the proposal development process by gathering audience input to refine the overall proposal strategy and to learn of current computational efforts happening on campus. This will be done during the forum through a series of short presentations by Purdue faculty and through a round table discussion with leading high performance computing experts -- audience Q&A and participation will be highly encouraged.
