Dear BNC Users,

The Purdue campus steam pressure is back to normal and the campus chilled water flow and temperatures continue to return to normal. All remaining building systems should be back to normal in a couple hours. There was an electrical failure of one of the campus chilled water plants that led to the issue.

This is the final notice, but we will continue to monitor conditions.

Subject: NOTICE - Birck Nanotechnology Center Lost Campus Steam and Possible Chilled Water

Dear BNC User,

It appears that the Purdue Campus Wade Power Plant is having issues. At ~1PM the Birck Nanotechnology Center building automation system alarmed that the center has lost all campus steam pressure. It appears that we are starting to see the loss of all campus chilled water as well. We will be starting our contingency plans for loss of campus chilled water (shutting off cooling to office and atrium areas).

The center's primary chilled water pumps are running max capacity and the center continues to lose temperature control. Please plan accordingly for possible increase of ambient temperature and humidity control for all research spaces including the cleanroom.

We will keep you posted of any changes as we monitor conditions.

Regards,
