Subject: [Bnc-facility-notice] Campus Power Outage and BNC Building Operations

Dear BNC Users,

This afternoon at ~5:30 PM the campus experience a power outage that shutdown and restart most of the BNC building systems and caused repeated toxic gas alarms. The campus Wade power plant lost power as well and caused the campus steam pressure to drop to zero. At this time the cleanroom humidification system is off line since it requires campus steam to operate.

This means that the humidity in the cleanroom will drop over night as the temperatures cool off. Normal humidity setpoint is 45% and we are currently at ~30% and dropping. It takes 6-9 hours to heat up the cleanroom steam generators once the campus steam pressure returns to normal.

Best Regards,
