Ira's Retiring

All as of September 30th Ira Young will no longer be with us. Pleas congratulate him on his retirement and wish him the best. I would like to introduce his replacement Lorraine Fox, (foxl at purdue.edu<mailto:foxl at purdue.edu>) you may remember she was a past member of the staff down in the mailroom. She will be starting Monday September 26th please welcome her as she becomes acquainted with Ira's duties.

Introducing iLab!
As you may have heard, Purdue University is excited to start using iLab's Core Facility Management software, an online system to streamline the process of ordering and billing for core service requests.  The implementation of the iLab solution will help Purdue facilitate its goals of increased core utilization/awareness, improved core financial management, and enhanced core user experience.  This is a much improved and complete software package that will  replace Coral here at Birck and will handle equipment reservations and scheduling as well as interface to the Purdue accounts system to seamlessly coordinate equipment billings and account management.

In the upcoming weeks this system will be installed and rolled out here in our facility.  Later this Fall/Winter our Coral system will be completely replaced by iLab.  Watch for more announcements on implementation and deployment progress and if you have any questions please contact Jerry Shepard of the Engineering Staff.  He is leading the iLab implementation effort for Birck.


Refrigerator
The kitchen refrigerator will be cleaned out at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 30th. Anything without a name and date will be thrown away. Please remember this is a shared space and clean up after yourself.
