[BNC-all] Invitation to the 1st annual conference on "Micro & Nanoscale Science for Addressing Grand Challenges: Advancing Technology with Light

Dear All,


The Nanotechnology Student Advisory Council (NSAC), the Purdue student
chapter of the Optical Society of America and Society for optics and
Photonics (OSA/SPIE) cordially invite you to attend the 1st annual
conference on "Micro & Nanoscale Science for Addressing Grand Challenges”,
with a theme of “Advancing Technology with Light” on Wednesday April 20,
2016 at the Birck Nanotechnology Center.



The conference will highlight different key areas of research that are
focused on at Purdue that are directly related to light, including:
Quantum Photonics, Thermal Science, Energy, Nanomanufacturing and Life
Science.  There will be various talks in each area, given by invited Purdue
students and post-docs who are at the top of their respective fields.
There will also be a lunch talk by Dr. Ronald G. Polcawich from the US Army
Research Laboratory. The talks will be followed by a poster session,
featuring projects presented by students from various departments at Purdue.

The conference will also include free breakfast, lunch, as well as a
closing banquet - all held at the Birck Nanotechnology Center.



We hope you will be able to attend this conference and use this opportunity
to learn about the challenges and opportunities in several research fields
as well network with other students, post-docs and faculty members.  Please
