REMINDER: Please
do not accept any packages from delivery personnel at any entrance to
the building. UPS and similar delivery services have been instructed to
make all deliveries to the back dock. Thanks for helping us keep our
building safe.
HOUSEKEEPING: On Thursday, 06.11.09, BRK 1022 [the copy room next to the business
office] will be closed until 10:00AM as our custodial crew will be
stripping and waxing the floor from 5:00 to 10:00AM. If you have any
questions, please contact Mary Jo Totten in BRK 1220.
ISS [Office of International Students and Scholars]: timing of H-1B processing. As of July 1, 2009, the Indiana Department
of Labor will change their procedure for their portion of the H-1B

KUDOS! Congratulations to Seung Min Kim for the successful defense of his dissertation "Understanding the
termination of carbon nanotube carpet growth using transmission
electron microscopy". Dr. Kim will continue at Birck for one more year
of post-doctoral research.

has come to our attention that skateboarders are damaging/marring the
cement walls and benches around the new fountain area in Discovery
Park. Most of their activity occurs after regular work hours or on
weekends.
If you see skateboarders misusing the area, please do not confront them. Please contact the Purdue Police at 48221 and let them handle the situation.
