Subject: Purdue Public Safety Workshops: Emerging Autonomous Equipment on Campus

ASC Affiliated Faculty-
Please see the below message with the invitation to attend a Purdue Public Safety Workshops for autonomous equipment on campus.
Thanks,
Dave

Purdue colleagues,
Dr. Darcy Bullock assisted us in compiling this list of Purdue faculty and staff that are or have been engaged in autonomous technology devices on campus. If you know of others that might be interested in participating in this safety workshop, please feel free to forward this information to them.

The Purdue faculty, staff and student community is active in a variety of projects involving autonomous vehicles such as: driverless delivery, unmanned aerial systems, personal transportation modes, micro transit, mowing, deicing, and truck platooning. In order to support the Purdue activities in these areas and ensure public safety, Environmental Health and Public Safety, the Purdue Police Department and the Office of Risk Management are hosting two informal workshops to provide opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to share their activities with the public safety team. If your work involves testing/implementing transportation technologies or advising student organizations in this area, you are invited to provide a 5-minute overview of activities taking place on or near campus.
During your 5-minute presentation, please include the following information:

  * A brief overview of the activity and the type of equipment it involves
  * Where the research or competition activities will be taking place
  * What safety training is involved for staff and students working on the project

Two workshops have been scheduled. Both will be held in the TERY Conference Room located at the Purdue Police Department. https://goo.gl/maps/dFRaQQVgoBJrPgPv6 Please enter the conference room on the east side of the building, not through the PUPD public entrance.

  *   Tuesday, November 12 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
  *   Monday, November 18 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

On behalf of our offices, we look forward to hearing more about your work.
Sincerely,

Carol A. Shelby
