Sharing o365 calendars with external people

Process to share calendars with people external to Purdue

(eg: GMail, Purdueforlife.org, etc)

 

  • To share your calendar, follow the steps outlined in: https://support.purdue.edu/goldanswers/438903 Short summary:
    • Go to outlook.office.com and sign in
    • Switch to calendar view
    • Click the share button
    • Add the email address of the person you wish to share with
    • Only choice for external people is Reviewer (View all details)
    • This generates an email for the recipient to act upon

 

  • To view someone else's calendar
    • Go to outlook.office.com and sign in
    • Open the email with the invitation
    • Click on the big "Accept" button
    • This adds the calendar to your view
    • The desktop calendar witll reflect this in some time
