Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Licensing for Visual Studio, Project, & Visio

FOR INSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH BY FACULTY AND STUDENTS:

To satisfy our current license agreements for the installation of Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formerly Dreamspark/Imagine) editions of Visio, Project, and Visual Studio on Purdue-owned, self-supported PCs; you must confirm that the software will be used ONLY by faculty or students, in the College of Engineering or the Purdue Polytechnic Institute, for either Teaching or Research purposes. Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching licenses ARE NOT available for Staff or Administrative Purposes

  • Distribution of Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Licenses are limited to one license per Faculty or Student only.
  • Distribution of Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Software to LAB Computers requires Windows Group coordination.
  • Distribution of Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Software is limited to Teaching or Research purposes.
  • Distribution of Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Software is prohibited for Administrative Use.
  • Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching licenses are NOT available for STAFF installations for any purpose.
  • STAFF users must order software licenses. See section below.
  • Faculty and Students can obtain licenses from Azure Dev Tools for Teaching for installation on personally owned machines, but again limited to one license per faculty or student.
  • Visio2021 , Project 2021, and Visual Studio installers, along with license keys, may be acquired by the requestor at:  https://azureforeducation.microsoft.com/devtools

 


FOR ADMINISTRATIVE AND STAFF (or for an individual's second system) USE:


For Administrative and STAFF purposes: put in a ticket into price Q, asking for a purchase of the license. Once we get the PO number, we provide it to PurdueIT Licensing (itap-licensing@purdue.edu). Approx costs: Visio: $70; Project: $130

After the PO number has been sent to itap-licensing, Project/Visio 2021 and/or Visual Studio may be pushed to the appropriate PC via MECM/Arrow.  For off-domain systems, after submitting the PO, the installation media should be accessible via Community Hub:
