Graduating from Purdue?

Faculty/Staff Retiring/Leaving:

Students:

Once you have graduated, Purdue will eventually disable your account. This usually happens somewhere between 1 and 6 months. When this happens access to Purdue software will become unavailable. Here is a run down of some things in particular you need to be aware of:

Adobe Products:
will be unavailable to you immediately. This includes Acrobat, the Creative Cloud Suite and Adobe cloud.

Box.com:
will be unavailable to you immediately. If you are a Graduate Student and have research data in Box.com, immediately place the research data in a shared Box.com folder that is owned by your PI. Failure to do so could jeopardize future papers and collaboration - and possibly violate data retention requirements placed by the funding agency.

Sharepoint and OneDrive:
is revoked shortly after graduation. OneDrive's 1T storage space is dropped to the standard amount available to free accounts - 5Gb. You should copy your files to different storage right away! If you are a Graduate Student and have research data in OneDrive, immediately place the research data in a shared OneDrive folder that is owned by your PI. Failure to do so could jeopardize future papers and collaboration - and possibly violate data retention requirements placed by the funding agency.

Other considerations:

Your email remains valid for approximately six months after you graduate. Given that the amount of email storage that you have is substantial, and is difficult to export into any reasonably accessible format, you need to plan on making a copy before you graduate.

At this point, you have a couple of options.

Option 1: You can migrate your email from your student @purdue.edu mailbox to an alumni @alumni.purdue.edu mailbox by exporting your @purdue.edu mail into a .pst file, and importing it into your alumni account. Details can be found at: https://alumniemail.ud.purdue.edu/Questions.aspx
(Remember to set your email service to forward to your new @alumni.purdue.edu address using the MailboxChange tool available at: https://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/ChangeMailbox - requires Purdue Login 2FA, formerly BoilerKey)

Option 2: Follow the email-specific instruction section at https://www.onmsft.com/how-to/about-to-graduate-heres-how-to-save-your-office-365-school-account-files - Remember that the other sections are also applicable!
