Professor Alexandra Boltasseva receives 2013 MRS Outstanding Young Investigator Award

The award was for pioneering research to develop novel materials for advanced plasmonic, metamaterial and transformation optics devices with potential applications in future nanoscale photonic technologies.

Professor Alexandra Boltasseva has been awarded the 2013 Materials Research Society (MRS) Outstanding Young Investigator Award. This award recognizes exceptional, interdisciplinary scientific work in the field of materials science by a young scientist or engineer who also shows excellent promise as a developing leader in the materials research community. The award consists of an engraved trophy and a cash prize of $5,000.  It will be presented at the 2013 MRS Spring Meeting in San Francisco on Wednesday, April 3, 2013.

The award is for Professor Boltasseva's pioneering research to develop novel materials for advanced plasmonic, metamaterial and transformation optics devices with potential applications in future nanoscale photonic technologies.
