ECE Team Wins First Place in Phase Two of the 2007-2008 SRC Design Challenge

Professors Byunghoo Jung and Dimitrios Peroulis led the team with their entry Wireless Chip-to-chip Data Link using U-band Transceivers. They brought home a $35,000 cash award.

Professors Byunghoo Jung and Dimitrios Peroulis led the ECE team with their entry Wireless Chip-to-chip Data Link using U-band Transceivers.

Graduate students Wu-Hsin Chen, Sanghoon Joo, Serkan Sayilir, Russell Willmot and Julia Lu won the first place in Phase One and Two of the 2007-2008 SRC/SIA IC Design Challenge with their entry "Chip-to-chip Wireless Data Link using U-band Transceivers". The team won the $35,000 cash prize and the opportunity to fabricate their design in Jazz Semiconductor 180nm SiGe BiCMOS technology. The award including cash prize, IC fabrication, and design kit is valued at $100,000. The final award was presented in February during the IEEE ISSCC 2009.
