Umit will introduce Texas Instruments and share a high level overview of the types of products TI builds and the target markets. He will then discuss in greater depth the embedded signal processing focus of the company and give examples of several R&D projects aimed at developing algorithms, hardware, software, and system solutions for the next generation of chips for products in consumer, automotive and industrial markets.
Umit Batur is a senior member of the technical staff and the manager of the imaging R&D team at the Systems Labs of Texas Instruments in Dallas. Umit received his B.S. degree from Bilkent University, Turkey in 1998, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta in 2000 and 2003 respectively, all in electrical engineering. Since 2003, Umit has been at Texas Instruments working on developing image processing algorithms for embedded systems targeting a variety of consumer and industrial applications such as digital still cameras, camera phones, video surveillance cameras, and automotive cameras.
