Professor Jan Allebach elected to National Academy of Engineering

Professor Jan Allebach Jan Allebach, the Hewlett-Packard Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been elected to membership in the National Academy of Engineering, the NAE announced Feb. 6, 2014.

Election to the NAE is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to "engineering research, practice, or education, including where appropriate, significant contributions to the engineering literature," and to the "pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering, or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education."

Purdue ECE team gears up for the Cornell Cup

Cornell Cup Team A team of ECE students is in the running for the Cornell Cup USA, an embedded design competition created to empower students to become the inventors of the newest innovative applications of embedded technology.

The Purdue Augmented Reality Simulator team aims to construct a wearable augmented reality system allowing simultaneous display of a virtual world based on the user's position and orientation, while collaborating with other devices in the local area.
