2000 Electrical and Computer Engineering Awards

For the last nine years, the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering has honored a select few of our more than 20,000 alumni with the title Outstanding Electrical Engineer. The program was launched in 1992 with a ceremony honoring 69 individuals who had previously been named Distinguished Engineering Alumni and/or had been recipients of an Honorary Doctorate from the school. Since then a few individuals have been added to the group each year. Tonight we welcome seven new members into this exclusive group, which now numbers an even 120. Each has made major contributions to our profession in the areas of research, invention, and/or teaching. Each has earned the title of Outstanding Electrical Engineer.
