Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the fair be held this year?

The Industrial Roundtable Career Fair will be held on the Memorial Mall.

Where can I see a full list of companies attending the fair this year?

Company registration has not begun, so a complete list of employers is not yet available. A list of companies will be posted on Career Fair Plus closer to the fair date.

What is Career Fair Plus? How do I use it?

Career Fair Plus is a virtual platform that serves as an easy way to view important information regarding IR. Be sure to create an account with your Purdue email and download the app before the fair! Using Career Fair Plus, you will be able to quickly view a full list of companies attending the fair, their booth assignments, the fair map, and more. Career Fair Plus is also used to attend virtual seminars ahead of the fair. Additionally, the platform can be used to sign up for time slots to speak to companies that are taking appointments (commonly referred to as the ‘skip the line’ feature).

What does it mean if a company is taking appointments at the fair? What does it mean if a company takes walk-ups versus appointments?

This year during the two in-person fair days, companies may choose one or both student interaction options: walk-up or appointments. If a company is taking walk-ups, an interested student may simply approach the booth and speak to a recruiter. If the company is taking appointments, the student may schedule a 10-minute time slot prior to the start of the fair, and then approach the booth at their designated time. Please note: some companies have opted for both walk-ups and appointments. This may mean that for part of the day, the recruiters will only speak to students who have appointments and for the rest of the fair they will take walk-ups.

Why would a company opt to speak to students by appointment only?

Oftentimes, this ‘skip the line’ feature is selected by larger companies in the hopes of mitigating long lines!

How do I make appointments, or ‘skip the line’?

On September 1st, time slots for companies that are accepting appointments will be made available through Career Fair Plus. Log into the app with your Purdue email, and select the time slots you would like. NOTE: not every company takes appointments! If you log into Career Fair Plus the morning of September 1st and do not see appointment options for a company, it means that that company is ONLY taking walk-ups!

How do I find a company on the day of the fair?

For IR, the mall has been divided into different color sections. Each company is assigned a table number and section corresponding to one of the colors. Their booth assignment will be available on Career Fair Plus, and a map of the fair is also viewable there. Additionally, a full list of booth assignments and the fair map will be posted here.
