Abstract
Electromagnetic NDT techniques are commonly used for the evaluation of ferromagnetic materials in terms of ageing, creep level and internal residual stresses. Such techniques help to understand the physical/mechanical properties of a material. The major issue in the NDT/SHM field has been that all approaches are experimental and no significant developments have been made in terms of modelling and simulation. Micro-magnetic modeling based on local frequency dependent hysteresis model and considering different aspects of Electromagnetic NDT like Barkhausen noise, micro as well as macroscopic eddy currents along with their implementation and experimental validation will be discussed in this presentation. These techniques and model development are applied to metallic parts majorly used in aerospace and nuclear industry.

Bio
I graduated from University Claude Bernard Lyon I in electrical engineering in 2001 with an M.S. degree and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2003. After a postdoctoral study on numerical implementation of magnet circuit model in Finite Element software at the Institut Montefiore, Liège, Belgium, in 2004, I got a position as associate professor at Insa, Lyon, France. My main research interests are now materials characterization, hysteresis modeling, micro-magnetic non-destructive techniques and multiphysics coupling in smart materials.
