Job Title: Engineering Interns

Department: Engineering

Location: Lafayette, Indiana

Compensation: Commensurate with academic level - Will discuss during interview

Report to: Department Manager

Summary: The Engineering Intern will work on small teams or individually to provide engineering support and guidance for the manufacturing plant. Interface with other areas of the organization to drive continuous improvement in these manufacturing divisions.

Descriptionof Duties and Responsibilites:

• Perform work measurement activities through time and motion (MOST) studies to establish, improve, validate and sustain labor standards for existing and new processes in assigned operations
• Perform analysis of current operations and identify opportunities for improvement
• Assist in the reporting of site productivity and quality results or any other duties as assigned.
• Plant layout design and efficiency determination
• Participate and on occasions lead in team efforts and work on projects which require interacting with all employee levels of associates and management.
• Cost reduction analysis and tracking
• Capital project justification
• Standard cost development, analysis, and quoting
• Maintaining bill of materials and routings
• Capacity and strategic production analysis
• Materials management support and production planning (as needed)

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a four-year Engineering or related program required
• Knowledge of Engineering methods and concepts preferred
• Must have strong analytical, time management, and problem solving skills
• Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have excellent software skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Willingness to travel to other manufacturing plants or distribution centers as needed
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
