The Midwest Big Data Hackathon will be organized at the University of Iowa on September 16-17, 2017. Student developers, designers, and data enthusiasts of all kinds can collaborate on exciting projects looking at the opportunities around big data. The event will be free and open to students. 

Major cross cutting areas for the hackathon will be data visualization, visual analytics, big data management, scientific computing (HPC, Cloud, GPU), virtual/augmented/immersive reality applications, and cyber-learning systems.

Travel support will be provided for students traveling from Midwest states. Please share the event information with your students and faculty.

If you are interested partnering for the event, please contact bigdata@uiowa.edu. We are also looking for faculty mentors, and judges for the event. We will add project ideas, and data sources provided by faculty and industry.
