Mentoring Across Differences

Author: Danielle Shively

On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, from noon to 1 pm, Mentoring@Purdue (MAP) will be hosting a workshop entitled, “Mentoring Across Differences”, in Pfendler Hall - RM 241. The goal of this event is to facilitate a panel discussion on the best practices for mentoring across differences (culture, race, or gender), and also to explore potential approaches to managing the challenges associated with cross cultural mentoring. In this workshop, we will outline important components of cross gender and cross cultural mentoring partnerships and help you to identify strategies for building a healthy, and productive relationship with your mentor or mentee. This workshop is for students who are beginning a new mentoring relationship as well as for faculty who would like to enhance current relationships. We hope to see you there!
