This summer join us as we examine the quality of life of LGBTQ people in a new study abroad program: Health and Equality Throughout the UK and Ireland. This one-time only Study Abroad experience is 6 week overseas journey throughout Ireland (Dublin, the western countryside) and the UK (Belfast, Edinburgh, Cambridge and London) where students examine the health and well-being of LGBTQ youth. Current issues, such as, Trans Rights, Gay Marriage, Women’s Rights, and LGBT Healthcare are highlighted.

The program is led by one of HHS’s Dr. Stewart Chang Alexander. Dr. Chang Alexander has a distinguished background in healthcare and is part of the Public Health Program. The Study Abroad is 6-credit hours and 3 credit hours can be used to satisfy the LGBTQ Minor. The class meets in Dublin on June 23 and returns Augusts 4. The program is open to all undergraduate students.
