ENGR20100 Engineering in Global Context

Priority: No

Are you ready to work across cultures? ENGR20100 (Engineering in Global Context, 3 cr) can help prepare you for a global career.

Through historical and comparative study, ENGR20100 challenges you to learn how unique, local cultures of technical work have emerged in diverse regions, including Western Europe, East Asia, and North America. Going around the world, we ask: who is an engineer, and how are they trained? What kinds of jobs and status do engineers hold? What are their styles of problem solving? Interactive case-study activities allow you to develop their global competency, including by challenging you to effectively navigate the types of work situations often encountered by global technical professionals.

ENGR20100 is open to ALL Purdue students, and counts as an STS core curriculum elective. The course is also requirement for students pursuing the Global Engineering Studies Minor except for GEARE students.

Scheduling Information: CRN 12441, MWF 9:30-10:20 AM (ARMS 1021)
