Research Assistant Opportunity at Northeastern Univeristy

Position Type: Administrative
Priority: No

Professor Marvin Onabajo at Northeastern Univeristy has an anticipated assistantship position opening for a student who is interested to pursue a Ph.D. in the area of analog/RF integrated circuit design. A start at the beginning of the spring 2019 semester (Jan. 8, 2019) is preferred. A start at the beginning of the fall 2019 semester (Sept. 5, 2019) might be possible, but it would still have to be determined whether a later start date can be arranged. Students who are interested in the opportunity are welcome to email me their resumes and unofficial PDF transcripts directly at monabajo@ece.neu.edu.

The expected opening is in the Analog & Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit (AMSIC) Research Laboratory (http://www.ece.neu.edu/~monabajo), and includes the standard stipend and tuition coverage for the Ph.D. program at Northeastern University. It will be associated with a new sponsored research project involving the design of integrated circuits for wireless brain signal measurements and processing.

An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

- M.S. degree completion in 2018 (possibly spring 2019)

- Research or industrial work experience related to analog/RF CMOS circuit design, or chip tape-out and testing experience from the M.S. thesis research project

- System-level RF transceiver design knowledge

- Competence in Cadence simulation and layout tools

- Familiarity with analog/RF measurement equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, etc.)

- PCB design and assembly design experience

- Peer-reviewed conference and journal publications are a plus, and it is advisable to list them on the resume

- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
