Applications are open for a skilled and motivated research assistant to join a project at the Bindley Bioscience Center (BBC) at Purdue University. This opening is for a half time research assistant appointment. Candidates must be pursuing a Master's Degree (1st year) or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Engineering, Bioinformatics or a closely related discipline.
The candidate should have practical experience with:
A scripting language (Python, PERL, R)
C++ or C#
Visual Basic
Data handling, setting up and implementing algorithms and workflows
Chemistry knowledge is an advantage
Responsibilities include implementing new features for Mass spectrometry data analysis and hardware integration. The ideal candidate must be interested in learning basic concepts of chemistry and Mass spectrometry.
