Laboratory of Integrated Brain Imaging RA positions

Position Type: Graduate Student
Priority: No
Degree Requirement: MS, PhD

The Laboratory of Integrated Brain Imaging has three openings for graduate research assistants. Doctoral students are preferred.

  1. Digital Human for Drug Delivery. The project aims to establish digital human and mouse brain models based on anatomical and physiological information from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data. The models will be utilized to simulate the biodistribution of drugs delivered through various systems. The graduate assistant needs to have interest and background in image processing, modeling and simulation. An ideal candidate needs to have prior experience and strong skills in programming (Matlab, Python, and C++), mathematics (partial differential equations and linear algebra), and image processing (segmentation, registration, parcellation etc.), numerical modeling (finite element and difference methods).
  2. Multispectral Optical Imaging. The project aims to establish a multispectral optical imaging system for simultaneous imaging of calcium/voltage and hemoglobin dynamics in the mouse brain. An ideal candidate needs to have strong background in microelectronic hardware design and fabrication, medical instrumentation, programming, signal and imaging processing.
  3. Neural network modeling. The project aims to establish complex human and rat brain neural networks based on diffusion and functional MRI. An ideal candidate needs to have strong background and interest in network science, machine learning, and statistical signal processing.

Students who are interested in the above positions should email Professor Zhongming Liu (zmliu@purdue.edu) with their resume and statement of interest.
