Internship Available at NEXTRANS Center

Our lab searching for motivated undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering to work in the Driving simulator laboratory at NEXTRANS Center, Purdue University during Summer and Fall 2018 (~20 hours per week). We are looking for an intern with programming background who can help us to develop new tools and functionalities, and automate some tasks related to the driving simulator. The hired candidate will get exposure to the work environment in a research laboratory setting, and will interact with our research team.

 

Driving simulator laboratory at NEXTRANS Center, Purdue University is a state-of-the-art research facility to analyze driver behavior and human factors issues in a variety of driving environment and information scenarios.

We are looking for an intern with programming background who can help us to develop new tools and functionalities, and automate some tasks related to the driving simulator. The hired candidate will get exposure to the work environment in a research laboratory setting, and will interact with our research team.

 

The potential candidate for internship should have the following skill set:

·        Communication skills, both oral and writing

·        Programming in Python

·        Documenting code/process in precise and concise manner

 

In addition, having the following skill/experience is a plus:

·        Experience with image/video processing

·        Experience with web automation, network communication, GUI development, etc.

·        Experience with third party APIs such as Google APIs, Alexa Skills Kit, etc.

·        Programming in C and/or C++
