Faculty Position in Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Delaware: Assistant Professor of Practice in Cybersecurity

Responsibilities will include teaching and curriculum development related to undergraduate and graduate education in Computer Engineering, with an emphasis on Cybersecurity: for example, teaching introductory and advanced Cybersecurity, System Hardening & Protection, Digital Forensics, Secure Software Design, Network Security, or related courses. Courses are to be delivered live on campus as well as online.

UD is located in northern Delaware, in close proximity to a banking industry hub, and to the US Army?s Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) and supporting businesses. Cybersecurity is the key area of focus for both industries, and UD has established research and education partnerships with JP Morgan Chase, CERDEC, and several defense businesses that can provide faculty members with research funding, data, and access to personnel working on topical projects.

The ECE Department offers a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The ECE Department offers an undergraduate Minor in Cybersecurity and a Masters of Science in Cybersecurity. These degrees complement the existing MS and PhD graduate degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering and related programs. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. Successful candidates are expected to have demonstrated excellence in teaching and curricular development in computer engineering, with particular interest in Cybersecurity and innovative instructional techniques. Industrial experience in computer and network security, or computer engineering will be viewed favorably.
